Studio Location

My studio is in Port Hardy, located on beautiful Northern Vancouver Island located in British Columbia, Canada; in the Pacific Northwest region of North America. Seattle, Victoria and Vancouver are major cities within 500 km (300 miles) of the region. Vancouver Island is 250 miles long and 50 miles wide and has a total population of 700,000 people. Regular ferry service connects Nanaimo and Victoria to Washington State, Seattle and Vancouver (the mainland) and Port Hardy to Northern destinations, such as Prince Rupert, on the mainland. Port Hardy is located on the Northern Tip of Vancouver Island, 412 km (257 miles) from Vancouver and 501 km (301 miles) from Victoria. The regional population of Northern Vancouver Island is 15,000, Port Hardy being the largest community in the regional district with just under 5,000 people.
Port Hardy is a welcoming community. Found in the heart of a wilderness paradise Port Hardy is brimming over with recreational opportunities, for kayakers, bird watchers, canoeists, cyclists, divers, hikers, hunters, kayakers, fresh and salt water sports fishermen. This is a great place to visit, or to live and raise a family. We are strategically located and are the crossroads of air, ferry, highway and marine transportation networks. The region is a destination for tourists and vacationers who are looking for a pristine coastal wilderness experience, First Nation cultural experience, world class diving and great salt water fishing. I’ve lived on the North Island for almost 23 years (yikes!! that’s a long time) and currently live in a beautiful waterfront home. My quilting studio has a fantastic view of the ocean; I can easily spend the time away by staring out at the ocean and watching the eagles swoop by.
My quilting studio is located on the top floor in my home. I have a beautiful large open quilting space that accommodates my APQS Millennium and CQ on 14’ frame and my APQS Lenni on 10’ frame. I have plenty of space to be creative and to teach classes. I could stay there all day! I have a fantastic view of Hardy Bay from my windows.
